Financial Talent Group was created to fill a critical void in the financial staffing world: the need for a better solution for candidates and organizations alike. After decades in executive recruiting, founder Melissa Scruggs recognized that the traditional, transactional model failed both organizations and high-caliber professionals. FTG was established with the vision of moving beyond simple placement, dedicating itself to a consultative, human-centric approach that ensures specialized excellence across finance, accounting, banking, human resources and C-Suite roles. Melissa Scruggs is the President of Financial Talent Group (FTG), a women-owned Colorado staffing firm that specializes in accounting, finance, banking, human resources and executive placements across the Front Range. FTG delivers Direct Hire, Contract, Contract-to-Hire, and Retained Search solutions, partnering with organizations to secure top-tier talent and helping professionals build meaningful careers.

Under Melissa’s leadership, FTG has built a reputation for trusted partnerships, transparent communication, and exceptional service. In 2025, Financial Talent Group was recognized as one of the “Best Staffing Agencies” in Southern Colorado, a reflection of the firm’s commitment to excellence and measurable results for both clients and candidates.

A Colorado native and graduate of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) with a degree in Business Administration - Finance, Melissa brings over 25 years of leadership experience in the staffing industry. She previously served as Vice President for a global staffing organization, where she expanded operations across Southern Colorado, led high-performing teams, and consistently exceeded financial and growth objectives. During her tenure, she earned multiple national performance awards recognizing revenue growth, client retention, and leadership excellence.

Beyond her professional work, Melissa is deeply committed to serving the Colorado community she proudly calls home. She is the Past Board Chair of the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and currently serves in Board roles with Pikes Peak State College’s Accounting Advisory Board, The Colorado Non-Profit Association, Pikes Peak Workforce Center Board and Chair of the Youth Education Task Force.

Melissa is a proud supporter of Head Start, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, NAMI, the Military Affairs Council, Mount Carmel, and United Way and the Pikes Peak Workforce Center reflecting her ongoing commitment to strengthening families, workforce development, and the broader business community.
