Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 + Stock Options

Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to report directly to the Controller and provide leadership within the accounting function.
This is a hands-on, highly visible position responsible for supporting the monthly close, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and accounting for multiple entities. The Accounting Manager will also supervise and develop a team of accounting professionals while helping establish scalable processes as the organization continues to grow.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can step into a fast-moving environment and contribute immediately. This is a strong fit for someone with larger-company accounting experience, excellent tenure, strong relationship-building skills, and extensive experience managing month-end close across multiple companies or entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations and help ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting.
- Manage key components of the monthly financial close process across multiple entities.
- Assist the Controller with preparation and review of financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Support technical accounting, external reporting, and public-company reporting requirements.
- Research and resolve complex accounting matters.
- Manage intercompany accounting and transactions across multiple related entities.
- Provide KPI analysis and financial insights to support business decisions.
- Establish, document, improve, and scale accounting processes and procedures.
- Strengthen internal controls as the organization continues to grow.
- Support ERP implementations, accounting software conversions, and systems enhancements.
- Develop and improve accounting reports, dashboards, and management reporting packages.
- Partner cross-functionally with operational and corporate departments to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and supported.
- Support acquisitions, new business initiatives, and other strategic accounting and finance projects.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff and senior accountants, with approximately four direct reports.
- Establish clear expectations, deadlines, and accountability across the accounting team.
- Review team members' work and provide coaching and technical guidance.
- Partner with the Controller to build a scalable accounting organization.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and strong internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 5–8 years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience.
- Strong month-end close experience involving multiple companies, entities, or business units.
- Experience working within a larger, complex organization required.
- Public accounting foundation with an active CPA strongly preferred.
- Public-company and/or SEC reporting experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience researching and resolving technical accounting matters.
- Experience improving, documenting, and implementing accounting processes and controls.
- Experience with intercompany transactions and multiple related entities.
- Experience supporting ERP implementations, software conversions, or systems enhancements highly valued.
- ERP system experience
- Bill Pay Software a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with state and local sales tax, franchise tax, 1099, and K-1 filings.
- Knowledge of NNN leases, ASC 842 lease accounting, and ASC 606 revenue recognition is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting professionals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a relational approach to working across departments.
- Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Strong tenure and a demonstrated record of success in previous positions.
- Self-starter and problem solver who can quickly contribute in a fast-paced, "plug-and-play" environment.
