Salary: $76,000 - $100,000 annually, plus bonus

Position Overview
The Senior Auditor will join the Assurance team and support audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedures engagements. This individual will work closely with engagement leaders, clients, and junior accounting professionals while taking increasing ownership of engagement execution, client communication, budgeting, technical research, staff development, and business development activities.

What You Will Be Doing as the Senior Auditor
Client and Engagement Responsibilities
- Work with engagement leaders to complete assigned audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedures engagements.
- Serve as the in-charge on assigned engagements.
- Manage client communication and prepare engagement budgets.
- Coordinate engagement activities to support timely, accurate, and high-quality completion.
- Support engagements involving nonprofit organizations, closely held businesses, and clients across the organization’s industry portfolio.
- Identify challenging or unusual engagement matters and recommend alternative solutions to engagement leaders.
- Prepare financial statements and related supporting documentation.
- Conduct accounting, audit, tax, and technical research.
- Maintain consistent, professional communication with clients.
- Participate effectively in internal and external meetings.
- Manage assigned administrative and client-related responsibilities.
- Protect confidential client information in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Complete work efficiently and in accordance with professional and quality standards.
- Assist with special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Accounting and Bookkeeping Support
- Assist clients with monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping.
- Post adjustments to working trial balances.
- Record and classify transactions in accounting journals.
- Total and reconcile accounting entries for designated reporting periods.
- Draft financial reports, including required footnote disclosures.
- Establish and maintain property and equipment schedules.
- Calculate depreciation and amortization.
- Prepare payroll tax, sales tax, and other applicable local tax returns.
- Establish books of account for new businesses when needed.
Professional and Business Development
- Work with a mentor and senior leadership to create and execute an individualized career-development plan.
- Participate in internal and external learning opportunities.
- Contribute to internal projects and firmwide initiatives.
- Represent the organization within the Colorado Springs business community.
- Participate in professional, civic, charitable, and industry organizations.
- Build relationships with clients, prospects, referral partners, and centers of influence.
- Identify opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.

Supervision and Leadership
- Train and develop interns and junior accounting professionals.
- Provide timely, constructive engagement feedback.
- Assist less-experienced team members with technical and client-service questions.
- Support employee engagement and retention.
- Serve as a positive representative of the organization’s values and culture.
What You Will Need to Be Successful as the Senior Auditor
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Active CPA license in the State of Colorado.
- Residence in or near the Colorado Springs area.
- At least three years of public accounting experience.
- Experience supporting audits, reviews, compilations, or other assurance engagements.
- Ability to manage assigned engagements and communicate directly with clients.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and supporting documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project-management abilities.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines.
- Ability to work extended hours during busy season.
- Commitment to confidentiality, professional ethics, client service, and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established relationships within the Colorado Springs business community.
- Experience serving nonprofit organizations or closely held businesses.

Compensation
- $76,000–$100,000 annually, plus bonus.
