Description of the Position
Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
This newly created position supports continued business growth and offers meaningful exposure to multiple entities, accounting processes, and special projects.

Key Role Summary, Duties, and Requirements
The Staff Accountant will play an important role in supporting day-to-day accounting activities while partnering with senior accounting leadership on monthly close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and special projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the daily accounts payable cycle
- Work with off-site personnel to ensure proper coding of payables
- Process expense reports and reconcile credit card statements
- Record bills and queue payments in the accounting system
- Reconcile accounts payable ledger to general ledger balances
- Record daily cash receipts and code receipts accurately
- Support month-end close entries and reconciliations
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers and supporting schedules
- Identify issues and recommend solutions for new or non-recurring transactions
- Prepare basic financial statements
- Assist Senior Accountants with more complex financial statement preparation
- Partner with accounting leadership on special projects

Ideal Qualifications
- 1+ years of accounting experience
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Exposure to full-cycle accounting preferred
- Month-end close reconciliation experience for cash and expenses
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Oil and gas accounting or not-for-profit accounting experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage a high-volume AP environment across multiple small entities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working on-site in an open, collaborative office environment
- Self-starter with a flexible, adaptable approach to shifting priorities
